westell/linksys befw11s4 - advice appreciated

oooooops, looks like i accidently posted this to the wrong forum...sorry

Ok, after finally taming the westell beast...Because I'm dealing with a PS2, a Personal laptop, and a work laptop - I finally decided to bite the bullet and start home networking.

I picked up the befw11s4- wap router with 4 port switch and the linksys wireless pc card...the plan being to run the ps2 and the work laptop wired, and the wireless card on my pc card. I've only tried a couple of times to get everything configured with the setup wizard cd to no avail...Next I'm going to skip the wizard and go step by step through the instructions provided by linksys.

Here's what I understand that I need to do...(PC's already configured to get IP automatically)

Remove the username and password from the westell, power everything down. connect the modem to the router, the router to the pc, then power everything up. Then go into router config and put in the username password under the ppoe and go from there....

I have a feeling it's not going to be that easy...but I'm an optimistic guy. Just have a couple of questions....

Am I missing anything in the above?

Should I install the wireless card first and set it up that way?

Will there be problems with VPN? I have to vpn to my company's servers for my work laptop to get email and access the network etc...

Any other advice would be appreciated from people who have tried to set something similar up...

Thanks!
