Last month India joined a growing number of countries that have forced their ISPs to ban customer access to BitTorrent websites entirely, an effort that's not really doing much to stop users from accessing copyrighted files, since the filters are ridiculously easy to bypass. Last month India took things a little further, not only forcing ISPs to ban access to BitTorrent websites, but forcing them to block access to mainstream video services like Vimeo. ISPs in the country, tired of being criticized in the press for being wood-headed, have been fighting back against the order and have successfully won an appeal and access to these websites has been restored.
