Insight Communications Gets New Part Owners
Crestview Partners and MidOcean Partners nab 42% stake...
According to an announcement (pdf) by Insight Communications, an investor group led by Crestview Partners and MidOcean Partners has acquired a 42% equity interest in Insight. Crestview and MidOcean have partnered previously in the broadband sector -- acquiring Puerto Rican provider OneLink Communications back in 2005 (to please investors, OneLink imposes caps of 40 GB a month with overages every additional 10 GB). According to a blog post from Insight Communications CEO and Broadband Reports reader Michael Wilner, "nothing about this will change any of the company's operations." "Insight's current management structure will remain the same and there will be no impact on customers, employees or day-to-day operations and, since it's business as usual, I will continue to write my blog," says Wilner.

I just hope they don't mess things up, Insight has been the best ISP I have ever had. If they start capping bandwidth and doing other stupid stuff I will be really disappointed.

40 GB a month?!

Comcast gives at least 250 GB a month!

That has to be wrong.
