More of a configuration/capacity headache. Upgrading all fiber nodes and amplifiers for more upstream mhz is expensive, not to mention knocking out analog CATV Ready channels 1-6 by converting them to upstream.

the death of analog cable is coming, cable is the only pay TV service that doesnt require STBs for every set.

Re: with speeds like these...i dont know if i'm alone here but i dont necessarily like the whole stb setup. personally i like the idea of being able to hook up as i can w/o paying per box. but thats pry just me.

I'll take it...Even if it is only 5-10 mbps upstream, I'll take a connection so fast that no servers can get the content to me at that rate Too bad I'm in Comcrap's service area...

Re: I'll take it...If you do backups, you get an external hard drive, 'cuz you're goig to hit it if you back up online.
Also I almost know what "no access" is like; back home it's 512/??? wireless where latency goes crazy sometimes.
And the number where high speed isn't available: less than 40%. There's HughesNet\WildBlue.
Interesting who's saying this too...the person who has reviewed FiOS, Service Electric, Embarq and VZW...

I'll gladly take it, too, but I'm wondering how much more it will cost compared to Comcast's new 50Mbps down/10Mbps up tier. I would also have to get a new modem as well. What I'm also wondering is when and if Insight decides to implement this 100Mbps tier, would they get rid of the 10Mbps service which I'm currently on, and upgrade everyone to the 20Mbps tier, or keep it as it is now? MailI received a pamphlet in the mail yesterday about the new HD channels and the 100Mbit testing. It was also vague

the dark side of Insight digital 4.0 for Lexington Kentucky$3.00 rate increase in January for the analog classic channel package
G4 will be removed from the analog classic channel package. G4 will be moved to the digital channel package.
West coast feeds of HBO, Showtime, Starz, and Cinemax will be removed.
The $3.00 increase is the worst part.

Count me inI jumped on the 20.0 when it was testing and while it had issues at first its been great. Im very happy with it. Yes I know I would need new modem and things to run the DOCSIS 3.0 Im ready and more then happy to move forward, of course all depending on price.
