Japan: Softbank to accelerate speed wars with 45-Mbps DSL

November 26, 2003 Softbank plans to launch Japan's fastest DSL service in January, heating up competition with other DSL operators and fiber-based Internet access services.

Softbank said it would offer the new service, with downlink speeds of up to 45 Mbps, in January. Rival operators such as eAccess and NTT East, which is a regional unit of NTT, currently offer DSL services with a maximum speed of 40 Mbps. Full story Telecom Asia

Not only Flets but every adsl currently in Japan. In Flets case they call it ADSL More II and they're upgrading for free from 24 to 40Mbps!

 We'll have to see.Acca will also have 40/3Mbps.I'd want to know what Eaccess will do. But even now Yahoo!BB is No.1. They even got a new transit service from OpenTransit/FranceTelecom.
