.musashi[1] .yamato[2]
[1] After famous 16th century Samurai, Miyamoto Musashi, who also wrote a book on strategy and tactics: "Go Rin no Sho" ("The Book of Five Rings").
[2] Used much as "Columbia" was used as a poetic reference to the U.S.A in the late 19th century. It is the classic, ancient name for Japan. Refers to the period of the "Great Kings" ("Yamato"), dating back to A.D. 300, when Japan just covered southern Honshu (up to the cities of Nara and Osaka).

| Talk about a lack of detail... I have never seen an article so scant on details... It leaves a whole load of questions unanswered, like...
How will this be an improvement over the current design?
What types of enhancements are we going to see to performance, security, etc.?
Is this merely a new physical network (bigger, faster pipes), a rewrite of IP or a whole new set of applications/protocols? -- Prove it... Save the Internet Time (NTP) service, use the pool.

Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie propose a new internet protocol IPv7. They say it will be "hotter" than the other versions. Unfortunatley the higher bandwidth might leave them totaly exposed to in depth probes.

Shorter people + lube + straighter tubes = faster internet!
You know the internet cafes? Pfft....japan's got TUBE cafe's!
For an extra 5 yen, they spray you with the teflon lube!
Nothing quite like surfin the J-Net spraying a can of krisco to make you reach the 100m(ph)!
Now...though....you lil' children stay away from the BLACK tubes! dirty things go on in there....nude people all getting their routing on! Oh....think of the children!!!

| You can't re-write the Internet The Internet is already a hodge-podge of different networks that are linked together. That's how it has been since its creation. Just read the oldest RFCs and it will become clear to everyone.
So what do they really mean -- that they're going to create a really big LAN/MAN/WAN that is not connected to the Internet? That it will use something different than IP? That they're going to replace or enhance the core protocols of ftp/http/smtp/pop/etc.?? None of those things would be re-writing the Internet.
