The Kansas Commission is recommending denying the spinoff of Embarq from Sprint-Nextel. They are concerned that the spinoff “does not promote the public interest and provides no net benefit.” Specifically the commission takes issue with the transfer for $6.6 million dollars of debt to the new company.
