Karma's 'Neverstop' Offers Unlimited 5 Mbps LTE for $50 a Month

Wireless broadband MVNO Karma this week announced a new mobile hotspot offering named Neverstop that provides Karma hotspot owners unlimited LTE broadband for $50 a month. To access it, users will need to buy one of the company's new LTE-capable $150 "Karma Go" mobile hotspots. The catch according to the Karma website is that users are restricted to 5 Mbps speeds over Sprint's LTE network, though they can connect up to three different devices to the network at the same time.

Karma joined a rather crowded MVNO field back in 2012, offering users an $80 mobile hotspot where each gigabyte costs $14.

That older option has been renamed "Refuel," which the company says offers slightly faster average speeds of 6-8Mbps, with peak throughput of around 25Mbps.

Users can switch between the two plans at any time by simply canceling their Neverstop subscription in the Karma mobile app. That will automatically switch users over to the Refuel plan at the end of their most recent payment period.

Both options still lean on perhaps Karma's most interesting wrinkle, the fact that you can get 100 MB of free data or a $1 bill credit depending on whether you're signed up for Neverstop or Refuel. Those interested can find the full details over at the Karma website.

fantastic

Finally, somebody offering a decent deal on portable internet without some stupidly low usage cap.

Will let a co-worker know who has no other good options.

Ha

I'm not even sure sprint is capable of 5mbps speeds where I live.

Replace hotspot with fixed device and MVNO with retail Sprint

What is so difficult about running Sprint? Just bring back Clear's business model with LTE and dump CDMA.

$70 for hotspot
$50 for fixed

All that 2+Ghz spectrum is begging for fixed LTE usage. Tweak the speeds based on location.

This Sprint MVNO gets it

Finally, pre-paid LTE data that does not expire! Plus the option for unlimited, uncapped LTE data!

If you live, work and play inside Sprint LTE coverage, this might be for you.

150 bucks is a bit too much; plus, WTF with unsecured access?

150 USD is a bit too expensive for this. It's locked to the worst network on earth, doesn't support 5GHz WiFi (good luck trying to use 2.4GHz in any metro area), unclear what specs (who still uses imperial units when numbers are so small?), doesn't have LCD and only 5 hours of use -- even when phones can act as a hotspot for a good old 8 hours.

Although 50$ for 5Mbps is a pretty good price point indeed. Wish there was a worry-free way to try the network first, e.g., on a Nexus 5. Would totally sign up on board if it was AT&T on T-Mobile, and had Band 12.

P.S. Nevermind -- the whole thing is unsecured, so, anyone can connect and sniff all traffic. The credits might be interesting, but not really high enough to realistically make the service a free backup.
