Leap Expands LTE, Offers Galaxy S3
Also Offering Double Data Caps For Limited Time
by Karl Bode 08:01AM Friday Nov 16 2012
Leap Wireless has announced an expansion of the LTE footprint in addition to some new wireless rate plans. According to a company announcement, Leap is expanding their prepaid no-contract LTE offering into Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Phoenix, Arizona, and Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Laredo, Corpus Christi and Brownsville-McAllen-Harlingen, Texas. Leap also says they're now offering customers Leap's first two LTE smartphones, the LG Optimus Regard and the Samsung Galaxy S III. As a limited-time promotion Leap's offering buyers of those phones double the monthly full speed data allowance offered in their 3G prepaid data plans. For $50, the Leap 4G LTE Android Double Data Rate Plan allows 2GB of full-speed data, the $60 plan allows 5GB, and the $70 plan offers 10GB.

Re: Galaxy S3

Well they sell a LG Optimus Regard for $250 which has similar specs to a Pantech Marauder except no keyboard which is $330 full price. So I expect the GSIII to be around $450.

Re: Galaxy S3

$500 for phone on can get through a carrier for $200 so where's the saving with pre-paid?
