BOSTON Legislation to require state licenses for saltwater fishing in Massachusetts is on its way to Gov. Deval L. Patrick after quick approval by the Senate yesterday.
The bill would require people fishing in Massachusetts coastal waters to obtain state fishing licenses and pay fees of $15 beginning next year. story continues..
I thought we were supposed to vote about things like this. Yet another self perpetuating set of fees. Good show to help kill the recreation fishing business THAT ALREADY pays taxes and fees. Make it in Massachusetts!
I'm not sure if it has happened, but Maine talked about this "fee." It's nuts.... Regulate this and that and either take the fun out of the recreational fishermen or kill the lively hoods like they are doing to the lobstermen.
I feel sorry for anyone who enjoys or works on the water. It's becoming more difficult all the time.
