MC.Net Offer Re-Branded U-Verse Services

Last month we noted how AT&T appears to be allowing resellers to offer re-branded U-Verse services in their territories. DSL Extreme's new TrueStream service is one such example, with some of the pricing even beating AT&T's original U-Verse pricing -- and DSL Extreme even offering a 75 Mbps tier over the infrastructure before AT&T got around to it. DSLReports.com reader ILpt4U See Profile points out that Illinois ISP MC.Net also appears to have struck a new deal to offer re-branded AT&T U-Verse product; their pricing page being worth a look.

Is there

A $7 forced modem fee like dsl extreme?

Why won't ATT just sell off their uverse network already. They won't invest in it, companies are reselling it for a much better deal than ATT. Clearly people are somewhat interested in it.

DSLX is the only ISP that resells that charges the modem fee. AT&T Broadband does NOT charge that fee. Although all resellers are required to keep the data on the AT&T network, they are not interconnected as they were with the aDSL networks.

And other ISPs have obtained contracts with AT&T well before MC.Net and DSLX.

I don't doubt it. Yet you don't see too many mentioned, ever, or the website listings, either.

Would be nice to be able to compile a compare/contrast list of the U-Verse resellers, see how they all stack up (since there are more than MC.net and DSLX, as KennyWest claims)

Sadly its higher than ATTs promo

att.com/bestprice I used this as my bargaining chip when calling ATT retention department recently and was rerated for another year of uverse service. Since I already own my modem its just the flat fee each month I dont mind the one year commitment.

Since I know Im not getting rid of the net anytime soon and unfortunately the only other option for HSI near my house in IL is satellite and I refuse to go that route, ATT will be the way to go.

"Sadly its higher than ATTs promo"

That's how it works with AT&T. Their "wholesale" rate has always been very close to their retail rate so that they can prevent their wholesale customers from making any headway. Their "wholesale" offering is just good enough to keep the FCC at bay.

and a 3 year pricing guarantee!!!

Amazing to see this come across the DSLReports Feed this morning! I want to note that we have a 3 year pricing guarantee. We will not change the price of the contracted rate for 3 years unlike AT&T/Comcast! Also, there are no monthly modem rental fees.

Surprising

I'm shocked that any company would work with ATT considering the bloodbath they created when the FCC let them get away with closing their cabinets to the DSL resellers last time.

These deals...

Seems like AT&T's been more willing to 'share' the UVerse Network lately ... My guess is they want to look good in the eye of the feds as they try to get the DirecTV deal to pass.
