Moose Jaw's Conservative MP issued a plea yesterday on behalf of deceased Snowbirds pilot Capt. Miles Selby not to clip the wings of the world-famous aerobatic team. Dave Batters, who personally knew both Selby and injured pilot Capt. Chuck Mallett, said neither the pilots nor their families would support dismantling the Snowbirds.

Defence Minister Bill Graham said he spoke to Selby's widow on the weekend and she spoke warmly of the Snowbirds. Graham said he'll consider the 35-year-old Snowbirds' popularity and their importance to Canadians when he re-evaluates the need for an aerobatic team....
