Maine: FairPoint to improve broadband

PORTLAND, Maine --FairPoint Communications plans to spend $16.1 million to expand broadband Internet service in Maine if regulators approve its purchase of Verizon's phone assets in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, officials said Wednesday.

The plan would expand the availability of high-speed Internet in more than 100 neighborhoods and communities and bring the service to 30 additional communities for the first time. The investment is in addition to $12 million previously committed by Verizon.

Show me the contract.

I want to see it it writing. Not a promise, but a commitment. How many promises have been SAID by tel-cos just to get something approved? But then that promise broken after approval.
