Let's see... we are losing jobs right and left, state and local tax revenues are shrinking and government services are being negatively impacted... all sorts of things are going wrong and yet we have more legislators who are concerned with junk science.

Way to be totally out of touch! You really think law makers are in touch with reality? We invent laws to protect ourselves from ourselves (ticket for not wearing your seat belt). I say let natural selection take its course, it would make things a lot of things a LOT easier. We need less stupid people.
In any case, on my way to work today I avoided 2 accidents. So the law is working, keeping the stupid on the road.

| | | If enough microwave energy makes it it through your skull, it will heat up those cells. So the question is, are there any cell phones that generate that much energy to penetrate the less dense and less thick infant cranium.
About a decade ago, i read 3 scientific articles testing how much radiation would pass through an adult skull from a cell phone. Every single test was done with a cell phone 1/2 inch away from the head. Who holds their cell phone 1/2 inch away? Every article used an adult skull thickness. None of the studies were comprehensive in the number and types of cell phones tested.
i purchased a high end Nextel PDA phone to develop java applications.
When My Nextel phone turned on within 30 feet of our tv, it severely degraded our coax and wiped out over-the-air tv signals. When the Nextel phone rang, it wiped out even the coax television signal completely, turning the picture to white-noise. The phone itself would get very hot. After less than a year of use, i developed Meniere's. Was it this particular model of Nextel PDA phone the cause? Don't know.
People forget and let infants talk on the cell phone because it is cute. We receive advertisements everyday from cell phone companies, a little warning for infants and kids would not hurt.
Point me to three good articles that involved holding the phone tightly to the ear. Point me to three good high quality science articles that back up your position.
Hopefully, now all phones don't transmit that much power, but how do you know? How do you know there is not a bug in your particular version of firmware that causes your phone to transmit too much power?

People are stupid and this is the result of the nanny state mentality.

Fair warning does not a "nanny state" make.

It is not about mommies or nannies, it is about proper disclosure so that intelligent (and even stupid) people can make informed decisions about the risks they take.
These ignorant knee-jerk responses to gov't protections are really getting old...

That playground equipment is too high. That ladder is too tall. That game is too violent. That food is too fattening. That TV show has too much sex in it. That car puts out too much smog or doesn't get good enough mileage.
If you need a label on everything in life, you should not be having kids and if you are that paranoid you should simply stay home 24/7.
It's people like you have have us waiting 30 seconds to start our Navi systems as we wait for the idiot don't drive off a bridge screen. Mind your own business and stop expecting everyone else to take care of you. Concerned about Cell phones? Don't be lazy and expect everyone else to jump through hoops of putting stickers on everything. Google is your friend. Use it. Or better yet, do us ALL a favor and don't buy your kid a cell phone.

If we didn't have laws against drinking and driving, you'd be more likely to get t-boned in an intersection and lose your life. You really don't get it, do you? | | | | | | cell phone radiation causing cancer has NOT been scientically proven (show me a couple published medical journals that has been peer reviewed), and should be considered JUNK SCIENCE (avoid it like the plague for those with brain). stuffs (for lack of a better term) being emitted from various industrial complexes that are toxic have been scientifically verified. mixing/comparing the two ( real vs. junk science) is something that should not be done.
if people are going to believe junk science and other unproven/fringe science idea, progress in the world would screech to a HALT. this bill and those that believe in the ideas that lead up to this bill (and similar actions) are a danger to scientific, engineering, and technology progress. look at the people 'allergic' (ROFL) to radio waves and what they are trying to do and fear mongerers of the LHC for a bit of proof.
