Monday December 8, 2003 PETALING JAYA: Wireless and wired communications service provider NasionCom Sdn Bhd has launched its "voice-over-broadband" service for homes and offices. Subscribers with a wireless link will have an antenna installed at their premises which communicates with the antenna at NasionCom's nearest node.
For fixed-line subscribers, NasionCom will install a DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) modem on the phone line at the customer's premises, and a "head-end" unit at its other end in the telco's local exchange which will provide the link to NasionCom's network. For subscribers who already have a wired broadband connection like Telekom Malaysia's Streamyx, NasionCom will just provide them with an IP address. Full story
