KUALA LUMPUR - Telecommunication service provider, Maxis Communications Bhd (Maxis), launched its scholarship programme worth RM2 million a year for qualified Malaysians to pursue postgraduate studies in several world-renown universities abroad. Maxis said the scholarship offered by the company was different compared to others as its scholars were not expected to undertake employment with Maxis. Under the scholarship, Maxis will allocate up to RM400,000 to each recipient each year to pursue a two-year postgraduate course in life sciences and engineering, medicine, arts, business and management studies, and law and government studies, in several elite universities mostly in the United States and the United Kingdom. The scholarship will cover all fees and education related expenses, health and medical insurance, living expenses and a trip home per year or a field trip study as required by the academic institution.
