The content industry doesn't want a la carte. Half of what they produce and force on cable companies is crap no one wants to watch or pay for. They get to extort money from cable companies to buy what little good stuff they produce by tying it to all the cheap garbage they produce at low cost.

Amazon's Bezos buys Washington Post newspapers

Wow, that came out of nowhere. Amazon didn't buy the Wash Post, Bezos did it as a personal purchase. What will he do with it?

Re: Amazon's Bezos buys Washington Post newspapers

It's really just to get the only thing they have of value: the network of paperboys to deliver Amazon packages for like $.10 each

it will be interesting to see if the paper boy can throw a plasma TV while riding at speed and still have it land perfectly on the door step and not go through the window... While being chased by a dog or avoiding cars!

So if they go all digital I will have to put a Galaxy Tab in the bottom of my bird's cage.

GigaOm headline is misleading

NetZero won't have the nationwide data for another few months at least...and it might not be 3G-only, at least for Sprint. Wouldn't be surprised in the least to see LTE data coming out.

Still a rip off $50 for 4 GB when you could get Verizon's HomeFusion and get 10 GB for $60 which isn't much of a deal itself.

Re: GigaOm headline is misleading

I didn't know that HomeFusion was a mobile broadband product...

Different markets, different prices. Apples to oranges, even if they both used the same network.
