Is Wireless broadband exempt and should it be?The vast majority of wireless service in the United States IS provided by a legitimate telephone company that IS licensed by the FCC. This is a little bit like a pack of wolves in sheep's clothing. Baaaah!
A better question is how soon FCC and our limp-wristed Congress will sell out to high paid corporate hucksters? How fast would our Congress scream if their computers in their DC office struggled to maintain a 1.5/.256 connection?
This is exactly the speed they have been led to believe is acceptable on farms and small businesses in Mid-America. And this is the exact reason Internet speed should be regulated, and why these providers should be held to a higher standard than what they currently maintain.
All telephone companies are willing to take tax breaks and YOUR tax $$$$. All telephone companies are willing to make promises they cannot/will not keep. The only way to get real results for real people is to hold the collective feet of every telephone company in America to the same standard, coast to coast. And by the same standard FCC should hold telcos feet to a very HOT fire until they get acceptable results.
I don't expect miracles. I DO BELIEVE a speed of 10/2 vs 10/.768 is realistic and sustainable.
I DO NOT BELIEVE that delaying or diverting email containing a link to a legitimate (and verifiable) business is reasonable. It happens waaay to much in Mid America, for no reason except arrogant and protected telco can and does. | |
