Dish's CEO to Boost Dealers: 'We Want to Change the Way the World Communicat

For many years now, we have been working toward the goal of becoming a disruptive competitor in the wireless industry. We are incredibly excited to welcome Boost dealers as a part of that effort. Technology accelerates innovation and market disruption, and we're excited about the opportunities presented by 5G and our ability to change the very nature of the industry. In fact, we want to change the way the world communicates.
I can't think of any MVNO's that have become a "disruptive competitor in the wireless industry" and survived alone for long. Dish is going to be a Tmobile MVNO and slowly light up a swiss cheese 5G network. When the MVNO contract ends, hope the customers stick around for the Dish network?

If Dish doesn't have a network up by then they will lose all that spectrum

Dish will cobble together the absolute legal minimum requirement to be called a network to keep that spectrum.

Most likely the suing states will negotiate better guarantees, otherwise with high likelihood the merger is off .

Considering the minimum is over 70% of the US by 2023.

What does 70% mean? 70% of the people or land area? Per US census data, 97% of the US is rural and that 97% only contains 19.3% of the population.

It's 70% and 75% of the population. They're also sub-1GHz frequencies, so that majes it easier to provide coverage, since they have greater range and building penetration. »www.forbes.com/sites/fre ··· at-risk/

I assumed it was population. I was asking the question because 70% sounds enormous but if you build, borrow or lease towers that cover 3% of the US land area, you'll cover 80% of the population. Of course that means there'd be ZERO coverage between urban areas but that's what they could try to do if faced with losing spectrum.

Considered that Alaska is like 30% or so of the land area the question is justified.

No one has 70% land coverage

Dish

Why doesn't Dish just buy Sprint? That would get a slam dunk approval.
