More Californians Moving Out of State

LOS ANGELES — For more and more Californians, the Golden State may soon be in their rear view mirror. A new survey shows a large percentage of residents are thinking about moving out, as rents and home prices go up.

Re: Yeah

You can run, but you will never find paradise, it doesn't exist This always happens when things get a little bad, and people usually get over it. Other states look inviting, but they have their bad points as well as good points, Idaho has cheap housing, but poor paying jobs and bad winters, Arkansas has cheap housing and strong job growth, but the pay is HORRIBLE, and the south is a whole different animal. If you move trying to find perfection, you will end up moving forever, and never find it.

The beauty is being able to own a house and not pay a fortune out the nose. For the price of a house here in California, you can get a mansion somewhere else. I've had thoughts of moving so that I can have a piece of dirt with the name Juan Ramon on it. What keeps me here are friends and family or else I would've been gone a LONG time ago.

Re: Yeah

Yeah, but what good is a mansion if it's not where you want to live? I mean, I could get a huge place for cheap in the middle of Kansas, but I would not want to live there, flat, cold in the winter, no moutains, etc. How about trying to make things better here instead of just jumping ship everytime things are a little rough? I mean, I understand what you're saying, and you make some really good points, but trust me, you won't find utopia, it doesn't exist, at least in this world anyway. I wish you luck with whatever you decide though

Re: Yeah

If only I can buy in Puerto Rico. Even there, prices are going through the roof, according to my mom. (Sigh) I'll find something somewhere somehow someday.
