The SunBlender TeleRocket adventure continues...
(old news - 06:36PM Wednesday Aug 15 2007)
tags: business · VoIP · SUNROCKET · Teleblend
The hits keep on coming for "preferred SunRocket replacement service" TeleBlend, a VoIP operator created by USA Telephone with the sole purpose of gobbling up former SunRocket customers. Posts in our SunRocket/TeleBlend forum indicate that the service was down again today for many customers. Apparently, customers were supposed to have been e-mailed a "stability update" today.

Last week TeleBlend blamed system-wide outages on Global Crossing, but then retracted the accusation after they discovered the problem was on their own network.

Sunrocket by any other name

Stinks as bad.
seems like "telebland" picked up where sunrocket left off in terms of reliability.

I didn't have reliability issues with sunrocket in the year that I was with them (lucky me, right?). Anyway, what do you expect from a company that goes belly up with little to no warning and then says "Hey, sign up with this "preferred service provider" (Teleblend). No one has ever heard of this company because it never existed before! Why the hell would you join a service that has no history, good or bad, just because the previous company that screwed you and then bailed on everyone including there employees and share holders "recommended" them? Come on ppl get a f'ing clue already and stop bitching about all the problems that you're having. If you're stupid enough to enter any type of business agreement with these tools then deal with it.

i was with sunrocket for a couple of years, just to have a "home" phone number. worked all right for what i wanted, just a number to give out when asked. but to take their advice and go with one of their recommended choices, no thanks. went with voicepulse, ported my number and all is good. i hope.

Re: Sunrocket by any other name

if you just want to have a voicemail number and never use the phone you could use private phone. thats what i use.

Any migration of this caliber from a sheer numbers point put TeleBlend at a disadvantage. But, "one man's lost is another man's gain." Best of luck to TeleBlend, USA Telephone or whatever other name they use.

You Get what you pay for...........

People! Listen up.

There are snake oil salesman selling VoIP really cheap.
You get what you pay for. The Bell system may have been a bit greedy but they built in safeguards with their M&P's.

Go with a name brand for VoIP or go back to POTS but don't put your family's health and well being at risk for 5 dollars a month savings over some other companies.

Pretty much. I can send you Free Gizmos* if you want them. Just go to freegizmosdotcom and enter "sunrocket" as your gift certificate. They will be in the mail sometime by the end of the month.

*Free Gizmos promotion does not connotate VOIP service. You will have to call TeleBlend to set-up an account. Free Gizmos do not work with similar VOIP providers. A small $4.95 fee for shipping applies and the Gizmo is "as is". Lisa Hook, LLC is not responsible for lost of broken Gizmo's sent via U.S. Priority Mail. Not available in Alaska or Hawaii or wherever 911 service is not offered by Teleblend.

smooth

It has been just fine for me. I have stopped thinking about it all together. I have had zero issues.

I for one am happy someone stepped in, and made the transition all but painless.

Thumbs up so far.

I had my fingers crossed when I posted the message. I had just been on the phone in the last 24 hours, so it didn't even dawn on me to pick it up and try to make a call, or call myself for that matter.

Until today, as far as service goes, I never had an outage when others were reporting them. Guess it is my turn now.

The message saying the number is disconnected, can't be a good sign. I will say that much.

I'm waiting for the voip companies to post-humerously cross out sunrocket and replace it with teleblend in their conversion promo's.

Viatalk works great here

I was a former SR customer & I switched over to Via talk. It took them awhile to get me ported over & fix a few issues here & there. But I'm rock solid now & the phone clarity is crystal clear!

Will It Blend?

Whenever I see TeleBlend in the news, I always think of Will It Blend... the company which blends iPhones, zircons, and other weird stuff.

Re: Will It Blend?

Yes that web site is great. He blends all sorts of things and it makes me cringe sometimes.
The analogous relationship here is that will it blend always yields chopped up shards and remains of the day.....You draw your own conclusion when it comes to most of the voip companies out there.

Nice to know I'm not the only one that has the phrase "Will it blend? That is the question!" go through my head whenever I hear/see Teleblend.

TeleBlend -- where is my money???

Hey, looked like a good place to "park" until the smoke clears over SunRocket ruins -- alas, it was not to be. My line never went back to be fully operational. Same slow decay of successful calls -- sometimes worked sometimes didn't. So, I dumped them, and went with VoicePulse. We will see how good these guys are. So far, OK. BTW, I had very few problems during the (almost) 2 years I was with SunRocket. Had more the 2 before when I had Vonage. I canceled TeleBlend after 3 days (or 4), and (of course) have not gotten my money back yet. Beware!

Glad that I didn't go to TeleBlend

Once again I am so happy that I went with AT&T CallVantage after that Sunrocket debacle. AT&T is great and worth the extra money. No way would I go with Taliban...I mean Teleblend or whatever it is called. I think that that Lisa girl is involved with this company now too ?

Sounds like a CLEC hustler to me.

CLECs blame TPC for their screw-ups all of the time and the people eat it up.

I'd have to blame Global Crossing at first myself

After dealing with Global Crossing for several years at a former job I'd blame them first and ask questions later myself. They are one of the worst out there, and try their best to keep that title.

I don't care anymore...

I am so tired of hearing "SunRocket" this, "SunRocket" that. Stop beating the dead horse anyway. There IS no "SunRocket". They don't exist. Null, void, "poof" they're gone.
