(old news - 08:20PM Tuesday Jun 07 2005)
of New Broadband Services over Fiber Networks

SUPERCOMM 2005, Chicago – Jun. 7, 2005 – Motorola Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today announced expansion of its leading portfolio of multi-service broadband access products with the Motorola AXS2200 Optical Line Terminal (OLT) which supports converged service delivery over Fiber-to-the Premises (FTTP) and Fiber-to-the-Node (FTTN) user networks. The AXS2200 brings great versatility to carriers who are managing the complexities of upgrading current telecom architectures to meet the demands for broadband communications and entertainment services such as IPTV, optical-fast Internet and VoIP.

Carriers of all sizes are competing for consumers by deploying new services and by extending their reach for last-mile broadband coverage. Motorola’s converged FTTP and FTTN solutions enable carriers to easily upgrade current telecom infrastructures to deliver the bandwidth necessary to support complex and data-rich applications, while enhancing their competitive position.
