Netgear announced the launch of the NETGEAR Dual Band PC Card (WAB501) today, the industry’s first 802.11a/b dual band wireless networking PC card to ship. Netgear claims that in addition to 802.11b and 802.11a support today, the card will also provide support for future standards like 802.11g this protecting customer investment.

WAB501 is a cardbus (32-bit 3.3V PC Card) adaptert based on Atheros AR5001X chipset.
