KEANSBURG, N.J. (AP) -- New Jersey Republican gubernatorial candidate Chris Christie says it was a mistake to speed through Lambertville in an unregistered vehicle with his wife and children in the car.
But Christie insists he didn't use his position as U.S. Attorney to get a deal on three traffic tickets.
Christie -- who says the 2005 traffic stop was insignificant -- was driving with his family and colleague Michele Brown when he was pulled over for speeding. He was also ticketed for not having insurance or registration, although Christie says the car was insured but the registration had lapsed.
