KATHMANDU: Internet Service Providers Association of Nepal (ISPAN) has decided to halt the Internet service for an hour on Sunday. The Internet service will be shut down from 1 pm to 2 pm on Sunday, said Binay Bohora, president of ISPAN.

ISPs are protesting against the investigation being conducted by Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) suspecting their involvement in illegal Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) call bypass. The move of CIB is completely biased towards ISPs, Bohora said, adding that ISPs are facing hurdles form CIB time and again. We have been asking the government to stop harassing us. However, the government has turned a deaf ear towards our problems, he said.
