Netflix Fends Off Push to Saddle Service With Ads
Netflix so far is refusing advances to saddle the company's popular streaming service with advertisements. An ad agency tells the New York Post that Netflix could easily earn $20,000 or more for a 30-second spot, and posits that with Netflix spending more on original programming and content licenses, the cash could eventually be too attractive to resist. So far however, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings has resisted the temptation. "It’s fundamental to that control orientation that we don’t cram advertisements down people’s throats," Hastings said during the company's most recent earnings call.

Don't become Hulu

If Netflix starts implementing ads, I'm canceling. It's absurd enough that Hulu Plus makes you watch ads and their content catalog is no better than Netflix's. This is the cable TV advertising lie all over again. Remember when they said there would never be ads on cable TV since you were ALREADY PAYING FOR IT? That didn't last long.

Fed up with advertising

The day Netflix shows it's first ad will be the day I cancel Netflix.

The two primary reasons I "cut the cord" some time ago was price ... and the incessant advertising. Twenty minutes out of every hour is just damn ridiculous.

How about ..
