Netgear has announced the industry's first gigabit PC Card, which will enables notebook computer users to transfer large video, database and CAD files at much faster speeds.

The Netgear GA511 Gigabit PC Card provides speeds up to 10 times faster than Fast Ethernet and 100 times faster than 802.11b wireless. It is designed to quickly and easily connect users to other networked computers, printers, routers, network storage, and the Internet at blazing speeds of up to 1000 Mbps. It is fully backward compatible and features 10/100/1000 Mbps auto-sensing speeds eliminating any need for manual switching.
