There are already grandfathered unlimited iPhones with 4g LTE. They throttle after 5g of data.
I'm getting the iPhone 5 and keeping my grandpappy unlimited.

In the statement, AT&T outlined how the new policy will work:
· Customers with a 3G or 4G smartphone – who also still have our unlimited data plan – will see speeds reduced if they use 3GB (gigabytes) of data or more in a billing cycle. Speeds will return to normal at the start of the next billing cycle. For context, less than 5 percent of smartphone customers use more than 3GB per month.

I thought LTE was 4G and that is what the iPhone 4s and iPad 3 is?
You guys know more about this sort of thing than I do. I just buy the smartphone and use it.
I read somewhere that you can maintain the AT&T grandfathered unlimited on the new Galaxy S3
If not I will get the iPhone 4S to keep the grandfathered plan if I have to.
We will see.

I know you can get over 10Mbps down and 3Mbps up on the AT&T iPad 3 with 4G LTE with $30/mo grandfathered unlimited.

Camera manufacturers do this too. There are 8 MP cameras that take MUCH BETTER photos than most 12+ MP cameras do.
I am not saying HSPA+ isn't fast, or even faster than what we are used to calling 3G. I just think that AT&T intentionally confuses people with how they label it as 4G, which most people associate with LTE (which has a much higher potential than HSPA+).
I still think it's funny that AT&T is moving forward with LTE when they still have a very large portion of their coverage area on horribly slow EDGE. Verizon is putting them to shame with their commitment to LTE deployment and coverage consistency.

I don't think AT&T is killing the unlimited plan yet (for people upgrading to 4G phones). But if iphone gets LTE they won't let you keep it. You should probably buy a new phone before iphone is released.
I would recommend the htc one x.

If they want to camp out all night let them. People stood in line for hours and/or camped out for the iPhone,iPad,Xbox,and movies Like Star Wars and Harry Potter. Some even dressed up in characters.
I remember the 100 plus cars in front of that tiny gamestop store after midnight waiting for the first Halo game when I was coming home from work a few years ago.Even the restaurants stay open well beyond closing time to accommodate them.
Seems like friends or new friends,girlfriend/boyfriends,father/son,mother/daughter,whole families,etc. having a good time to me.
No harm done.
Personally I'd rather order on line.

Not really, I can see everything fine, and I can do what I need to do on it. That's what i thought until i had to use google maps. It's a pain in the ass to pinch to zoom on such a small screen.
