Internet Freedom Agenda

The Biden administration’s efforts to launch an alliance of like-minded countries on matters of internet governance comes on the heels of a Trump administration that prioritized questions of network security over the United States’ historic commitment to a free, open, interoperable web

Well, that's fresh. I didn't know the internet was "closed". I'm more for the "security" part of the plan over worrying about whether people in China have access to Twitter. Maybe combating bad actors on the security side would be more welcome than worrying if some country wants to block news feeds from CNN. Thats what I walked away with from it all.

Re: Internet Freedom Agenda

There is no choice here in the US. If there was we would still have the right to buy equipment from Chinese companies. But Cisco said Nooooooo. We can't do that. But yet their equipment and all others are made in China. The only one that was caught being bad as the US.

Re: Internet Freedom Agenda

It's all a smokescreen. Cisco gets mad that they have to compete with the Chinese companies, so they go running to Uncle Sam. Anyone who thinks the US government doesn't use Cisco equipment to spy on other countries is fooling themselves.
