From user:
I seem to be having DNS issues. I've noticed them for about a week now. I have a large amount of "Page cannot be displayed" and refreshing brings it right up.
2 laptops(WiFi, Win7), 1 Desktop (Ethernet, XP Pro) 2wire 1800HG (All PCs are having issues)
nslookup failed 100% of the time until I switched my computer to OpenDNS and nslookup worked instantly.
Default Gateway: xx.xxx.xxx.254
Primary Domain Name Server: 68.94.156.1
I have powercycled my modem repeatedly. I have not rest it completely as I do not want to go in and set everything backup until it's absolutely necessary.
Speedtests are normal. Browsing, intial page look ups and loading are slower than usual. Even on OpenDNS, but it beats havening to refresh each and every time I go to a page when the issue arises.
Unfortunately it's hit or miss. When I started this post 100% of nslookup queries failed. Now 100% are successful (After removing OpenDNS and using AT&T DNS)
Thanks in advanced for you assistance!
David's Notes:
-Checked his line didn't see anything wrong with it. Even the DNS was pinging with rather low latency. I noticed that he was also having problems with OpenDNS as well.
Gave him the link here(to see if this helps): »
pages not loading? have a router? might check this first!I awaiting for a reply from the poster
Problem found! Read on! From poster:
Actually it had to do with an infection on my desktop. I have no idea why it was causing what it was, but it was. I put in a new modem and router and the problem was persistent, I then pulled the desktop and the connection worked fine. So I formatted the machine rather than dealing with it
All is good now, thanks for the help.
