People Still Don't Find 3DTV That Interesting
Less than 10% plan to go 3D in next 12 months
You probably noticed that 3DTV marketing ramped up significantly this year, though the sales pitches continue to fall on deaf ears for a number of reasons. Despite the hype, data suggests people generally find the technology expensive, 3D content limited, and the glasses annoying. New data from Nielsen does little to dispel the idea that 3DTV isn't generating much interest, the research firm noting that less than ten percent of global consumers are intent on buying a 3DTV in the next twelve months. Earlier Nielsen data interestingly noted that consumers are actually less likely to want to buy a 3DTV after having experienced the technology, which isn't a particularly good sign for the home 3D market.

I won't get it

I have no desire for 3D TV--esp in its current state. I do not want to wear glasses, and the whole thing makes me motion sick. I wish the fad would just die already--at home, in theaters, everywhere.
