DALLAS - One person is dead and four others are injured after a deadly police chase that ended with a crash in Dallas.

The crash happened at the intersection of Harry Hines and Regal Row.

Officers said two men suspected of stealing a truck tried to outrun officers attempting to pull them over for seatbelt violations.

Instead, they crashed into a Mitsubishi, killing the car's driver.

Using Seatbelt Would Have Prevented Death

...

I'm curious as to how a "pullover" for a seat-belt violation escalates into this kind of situation. That would seem to be a pretty weak probable cause to me.
