Primus Backs Off Overages -- For Now Will Issue Credits For Users Who Were Billed Extra Monday Feb 07 2011 08:57 EDT Tipped by fatness With the CRTC reviewing their usage-based billing order after unprecedented Canadian consumer backlash, some carriers are now backing off their planned punitive low cap, high overage pricing models -- at least until the smoke clears. Users in our Canadian broadband forum note that the Canadian ISP has sent users a notice that they'll be freezing the rate hikes for the time being. "Primus is pleased to continue to offer unlimited Internet services to all of our customers," says the company, noting that users who purchased and were billed for additional usage plans will be credited for service. Primus was a strong opponent of the UBB effort and argued that the planned pricing was in no way tied to reasonable, real-world economics. |

Re: ScumPrimus has THE WORSE billing practices I've ever dealt with. I think you're right, they're probably a Bell clone and using their customer service policy manual.

Sure they were"Primus was a strong opponent of the UBB effort and argued that the planned pricing was in no way tied to reasonable, real-world economics."
In other words, "we were going to stick it up your arses, we truly were, but the tides changed." Best be believing they will catch you on the rebound though. Just wait until the CRTC sticks the UBB up the Canadians's collective A_s_S!

Re: Sure they werewhat get me is why this open to debate in the forum. or even why is primus still in an ad hoc forum. put it in the canadian forum where it belongs, unlock the thread and let the people speak. this is just nuts the way primus has been throttled/silenced on this board

Primus and UBBPrimus decided to be safe, and apply UBB based on the originally approved tariffs in TN7181. The fact that in the end, when the tariffs weren't applied, they did the right thing, and will reverse the charges.
I can't fault them for that.
