Promised Blackberry Layoffs Arrive
As Blackberry finalizes the process of being sold

" by one suitor this week), the company's promised 4,500 layoffs have begun to materialize. According to the Globe and Mail
, around 300 employees were laid off this week at the company's headquarters. "We are in a period of transition and we must focus on enhancing our financial results to be in a better position to compete in this current mobile environment," the company said in a statement. "We recognize our local employees’ hard work on behalf of our company and the difficulty of this news."
