NBC Universal has reached a deal with RCN to launch mun2, its bicultural lifestyle service aimed at Latinos 18 to 34.

Under the deal, terms of which were not disclosed, RCN will make mun2, which currently counts some 32 million subscribers, available to its subscribers on its Signature (expanded basic) level of service in New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington, D.C. and Chicago markets, as well as its Digital Vision (digital basic) package in the Lehigh Valley market.

The network will also be a part of its RCN's MiVisión Plus, which currently provides 30 Hispanic-oriented channels for $22.95 monthly, and its MiVisión Lite offering, priced at $12 per month.

The rollouts will come in time for mun2's presentation of the World Cup Qualifier between the United States and Mexico at 3:55 p.m. on Aug. 12. The game, Rumbo Al Mundial - Mexico vs. U.S.A. from Azteca Stadium in Mexico City, marks mun2's first-ever major sports telecast. The network is the exclusive English-language rights-holder of the contest in the States. The match will be simulcast in Spanish on broadcast brethren Telemundo.
