Recount for Atlanta Mayor Begins
ATLANTA, GA (WABE) - At the request of Mary Norwood, the Fulton County Elections office Wednesday begins recounting ballots cast in last week's mayoral runoff.
Kasim Reed leads Norwood by 715 votes.
Meanwhile, the Georgia Secretary of State's office finds little support that more than a thousand votes were cast improperly.
WABE's Jim Burress explains.
A group called "Citizens for Fair Atlanta Elections" claims more than 13-hundred votes cast in the November general election were from addresses that no longer exist.
The office of the Inspector General opened an investigation, and in a preliminary report released last night, the office says its findings show only about 40 addresses are potentially invalid. Spotted here
