WealthTV?I watched that channel once when I was drunk and couldn't find the remote and it was not time for a piss and a channel change.
I bought a Roku box for the living room though and chose it over AppleTV. It seems to have more features and well...it isnt APPLE!
I like to be different and I really do not hang with the whole Apple/Starbucks crowd.
I don't personally use the Roku box much since I watch most of my Netflix/Hulu on the 23" 1080p monitor in the bedroom before bed using windows media center but it is a fine piece of equipment.
Not had one issue with it yet and I would love to see more live channels available in the future. Gotta start somewhere.

Re: WealthTV?Who the hell is going to pay $3 a month to watch absolute tripe about the "weath society"?
While I applaud Roku getting into this market, their first offering is nothing to cheer about.

A la carte here we comeI hope more channels make this leap to true a la carte streaming. It is about time.

And it beginsSomething like this was inevitable. You have a channel that isn't getting lots of cable carriage, so they're trying another delivery option. The fee does seem high for such a niche channel with programming that might not appeal to many (certainly not me), but remember, this is a new model, so no one really knows what the pricing ought to be yet. I suspect that you'll see the price drop pretty soon.
But, just to be clear, I don't believe this is Roku's first live channel. They have NASA TV and a few Indian channels available.
But, all in all, this is a very good development, and I wish Wealth TV much success. After all, if this works for them, other channels will surely follow.

Roku -Live TVIt seems if Roku has so many users this might be the time to go back to the old model where the channel pays the TV station (Roku) for the right to be carried to all those users- after all if it is live TV there will be ads and I don't care to pay for ads. (anti pay TV rant)

(anti pay TV rant) I agree that paying that much per month to watch a channel this is really nothing but ads for products anyway is ridiculous. They should be paying you to watch it and not the other way around.

Not the first live channelOkay, so maybe WealthTV is the first "teevee" live on roku, but I've been watching TWiT Live on mine for quite some time now. Maybe not TV in the literal sense, but damn if it isn't more entertaining than cable. Live needs to be supplemented by on-demand streaming, however; otherwise you lose one of the cool ideas of the Internet, which is to be able to watch what you want when you want without sticking to some network executive's schedule.

mehI am not interested in this channel... I'll spend 4x-5x more of that on HBO channels. At least there is always something to watch!

Hmmm....Would Roku be willing to carry my television channel for free?
I have an email to send out...

A la CARTE SuCkS !lol If wealthTV is worth $3 a month, ALL my other unwatched stations must also be worth $3 a month. Considering I have like 300 channels, my monthly service is worth almost a grand monthly ! What a great deal I get ! OK, less sarcasm. I watch like 20 stations in total... at $3 a month each, thats $60 a month. Thats way more than Im paying now... and we'll never see the day that Id be able to stream channels like the YES channel for $3 a month. A LA CARTE is light years away.

Re: A la CARTE SuCkS !I currently have Dish. I probably watch about the same as you Italian.
However, are any of those channels ones you could live without? For me the answer is yes. I might subscribe to 5-10 channels that have programming I would really want to watch (I doubt I could even say that for what I have under the current package to which I subscribe.) For me, the $3.00 month model would work. However, Wealth TV is probably not going to be one of my choices.

You realize a light year is a distance measurement..not a time measurement?
