SBC Files to Offer Long Distance in Mo., Ark.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - SBC Communications Inc. (NYSE:SBC - news) on Monday sought approval from federal regulators to offer long-distance voice and data services in Missouri and Arkansas as the company moves to expand its reach in the region.

This is the second time the nation's second-largest local telephone company has sought approval for Missouri, a state in which it recently cut prices and provided more data about installations and repairs to address concerns raised about its first bid. That bid was withdrawn in June. (Article 1) (Article 2)

This is going to be a sad story, I can tell you that. Does SBC expect us in Arkansas to believe that they will help us catch up in the Telco. Communications, and Data Services? No. They will just bunch everything up like always.
