384?

when I called up sbc to order they said all thats available for me is 384? any possible reasons? is it my distance from co? b/c evrybody else i spoke to is getting 768!! And i sthere anyway to change this speed?

Yes, it is your distance. The closer you are to your central office, the more speeds you will be offered. There is a tier for the speeds. You are more that 12Kft from the CO aren't you? If you are only offered 384 when calling SBC, you are pretty far from the CO.

good for the employees!

now what about the other "sbc states" like INDIANA in which we still have poor lines and service for teleco side mostly and almost a total lack in any dsl in alot sbc areas unlike sprint or many of the other companies in indiana. hey sbc its just a nice short drive from downtown to northwest indiana! you do know that part of the state exists.
maybe then you wont have to give me that quality service credit all the time! lol till them ill enjoy my dsl and phone service for a whopping 35.95/mo.
