SBC Internet Upload Slowdown (old news - 10:59PM Tuesday Aug 26 2003)
SBC internet is currently trying to resolve issues with their speed problems. Due to the recent outbreak of viruses and worms, SBC has been experiencing extreme slowdowns of its services.
SBC currently recommends its users to go the the Windows Update service to patch obvious vulnerabilities.
As of now, SBC is currently working on the problem. You can view SBC's status in several threads on the BBR website, and can keep track of/view SBC's Internet Status for more information.
Perhaps it's time to start shutting the PVC's of infected users! That'll get the problem solved quickly! It may be Draconian, but....if these people are so irresponsible (or stupid) that they cannot keep their machines patched/updated or from getting infected, then perhaps they should not be on the internet! -jamied
