SBC and CWA negotiate ahead of deadline (old news - 09:02PM Saturday Apr 03 2004)
SBC Communications Inc. and its largest union resumed contract talks on Friday ahead of a Saturday midnight deadline for new contracts in negotiations covering about 100,000 workers.
The CWA has also said it wants its workers to have access to work in the parts of SBC that are growing, such as broadband Internet access and data networks.
the cwa gave a 30 day strike notice 04-07-04. sticking point; sbc wants employees to pay $2400.00 a year for medical benifets that where included in the old contract and paid by the company. How much was Ed Whitacres salary increace this year? I think $30.000.000 Yes thats millions. Yes I work for SBC.
I understand where the employees are coming from. I think that best approach would be for all companies and employees to work on the insurance companies.
