1 edit | It's Palo Alto Again ...and that's not good. Palo Alto finally choked on their own bureaucracy -- and wound-up with nothing besides a trial area and whatever Pac Bell and the Cable Co. finally came up with. Still, I wish them luck. -- "Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country" - and stop the NeoCons

| Re: It's Palo Alto Again Undoubtedly, some politician has realized that it will take many more union jobs to lay fiber than it will to deploy hot spots, so the option with more money and patronage is more attractive to the greedy and power hungry political machine.

| Re: It's Palo Alto Again ...and it was sponsored by Ammiano, Daly, Gonzales, and McGoldrick. The first three are so left-wing wacky I'd not be a bit surprised to see them wearing tinfoil in their hats to a Board of Stupervisors meeting to protest Wi-Fi EMF radiation and the fourth is a builder/union guy--his interest is clearly jobs.
Yes, it passed unanimously, and yes, it's long term. This study will probably get finished about the time someone is marketing direct brain implants which communicate by satellite.
It's appropriate that this is tied to a sewer project, as it's just a bucket of _ _ _ _ .

Just a thought. | |

Run Fiber for the Last Mile, and They will use it. There is also room for Wi-Fi, I think a combination of both could work wonders for San Francisco.

There is likely to be only one kind of fiber in San Francisco.

| Re: The smart thing i wish they would do something. As much as i hate san francisco (because of the smell and some bad experiences there) municipal broadband would be a great economical boom to the city. -- Currently stuck in a foreign country thanks to good old Uncle Sam, member of Cco 1/2 Stryker Cavalry Regiment.
