SINGAPORE : Connect Holdings is planning to eventually merge Pacific Internet with Asia Netcom and C2C. The comment came as Connect announced that it was merging the operations of Asia Netcom and C2C. The tie-up with PacNet is expected to follow in June 2008. Connect owns all three companies.

The merger is aimed at strengthening Connect's position as a leading provider of next-generation communications solutions in the region. Connect also has plans to list Asia Netcom over the next two years. Connect told Bloomberg the merged companies will have sales of up to US$450 million this year. This is expected to increase to US$500 million next year, with the company becoming profitable by 2011. Asia Netcom is hoping to raise at least US$200 million to fund acquisitions and build more networks. Full article Channel NewsAsia
