After years of complaining about close wireless networks, Skype recently got a tad hypocritical (there's a lot of that going
around), striking an
"exclusive" deal with Verizon to offer a semi-crippled version of Skype on a limited number of Verizon smartphones. Skype and Verizon have now apparently expanded that partnership, the Skype blog
announcing they'll soon offer a Skype app based on the BREW platform for a broader selection of Verizon phones, including the LG enV TOUCH, LG Chocolate Touch and Samsung Reality. Like the previous Verizon app, Skype-to-Skype calls to or from your mobile, computer or TV are free -- but calls to another mobile number or landline number in the US will eat your Verizon Wireless minutes.
