Skype Offers Free Holiday Wi-Fi
One Hour of Free Access at 50 Participating Airports
by Karl Bode 09:43AM Thursday Dec 22 2011
For those hitting the airports like we are this holiday season, you might be interested to note that over at the Skype blog, they've announced they'll be offering an hour of free Wi-Fi at roughly 50 airports during the next week. From December 21 to December 27, Skype says they're offering a free hour of Internet access to third-party wireless hotspots at a variety of airports broken down on a graphical map here. Users simply have to download the latest version of Skype for Windows or Skype for Mac or your mobile device, log in with your account, then check to see if you're in range of a supported network. While it's only an hour, it's enough to get your BBR fix in while you huddle among the airport Christmas hordes.

Meh

Only an hour? At a time where tethering is commonplace, this sounds like too much work for an hour on a congested hotspot.

Its free

When did something that was free suddenly become not such a nice thing to appreciate... what standards we have here...
Better than nothing... get it...

Taking credit or didn't do their research?

BOS and AUS already have free wifi. In fact, the BOS wifi is unlimited, no time restrictions. Are they wasting their efforts or just claiming others' wifi as their own?
