Black Budget isn't only SurveillanceThere are several 'secret budgets' in the US Government; none of them are categorically devoted to surveillance. This is the first leak from Snowden I've seen mentioned that is categorically false - the intelligence black budget covers all intelligence activities, not just SIGINT.

The 9/11 Comission report recommended that the amount of classified intelligence budgets be disclosed to the public; this rule was implemented by congress and that's why we know that this figure is the intelligence budget. Also, the NSA is funded by the intelligence budget...so it's no surprise that this is the figure matches that reported by the DNI. » en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Un ··· ommunity

Re: Black Budget isn't only SurveillanceIf there is anything that Snowden has shown us, is that the government lies. So, as to believe that a rule that was implemented by congress followed.... well my friend to me that just seems absurd on its face.

I'm usually not big on conspiracy theories, but i'm not for a minute going to believe what was previously disclosed is true given the agency has been shown to be lying to its superiors and said superiors are either completely in the dark as to what is going on, or allowing themselves to be embarrassed repeatedly for no good reason

The public part just doesn't get in to the gruesome details of where the money goes. But the existence of black budgets aren't exactly secret.

Well I am not aware of Snowden getting caught in a lie.
The same can't be said of the NSA, JD or the rest of the Administration. THey are compulsive liars.

The same can't be said of the NSA, JD or the rest of the Administration. THey are compulsive liars. Snowden may just not know the real truth, or only bits and pieces of it - so it's easy to latch on and prove something wrong. Then again, I wonder if anyone in the US Government, up to and including the President knows the whole story. The NSA may not think he needs to know - after all, Presidents terms last a maximum of 8 years - the NSA's power lives on, just like all your private information.

"Forged information" is also true. We're not only talking about what is true or not, but what is 'made' to look like it's true.

You assume that they crap on the constitution on a daily basis. I require evidence before I make those kinds of statements. Snowden hasn't provided shit for evidence.

Re: Yepsaid by ArrayList:Of course they are lying sacks of shit, but does it matter if I complain about it? Not really, no. Complaining about it, discussing it, educating people about it, organizing people to correct it DO matter. Some of us will not accept a government of lying sacks of sh*t. That's not what AmeriCa is supposed to be about. Maybe YOU are content sipping your Kool Aid in AmeriKa, but the rest of us want our country back... and THAT long road back starts with complaining. It's an Act of Patriotism as opposed to a "Patriot Act".

You don't even want a proper investigation. You just want heads on steaks. Not a very civilized thing to do. I see that you are a psychic. Well sad to say, you need to sharpen your skills, they are WAY off. YES I want a proper investigation and criminal prosecution of those who have perjured themselves while under oath to Congress and have participated in a criminal conspiracy to usurp the Constitution of the United States and participated in the attempt to cover it up. Think we'll EVER see such a thing in this corrupt regime?

Re: YepYou have no idea what you are talking about. No one has usurped the constitution, participated in a conspiracy to cover it up and there is no evidence that ANYONE has committed perjury.
I give up. You are welcome to be set in your ways, but keep in mind that neither of us have ANY facts whatsoever. Those won't be made public(they never are) and frankly, it isn't my business to know any of this. I'm not qualified to pass judgment on any of it because I don't have the experience or knowledge to do so. Just like I think that 90% of the population isn't qualified. You couldn't keep their attention long enough to bring them up to speed so they could make an informed decision. It's no different than teaching geology to a hardline creationist. No matter how much evidence you give them they will always believe that the Earth is only 6000 years old.
I'm really starting to think the the notion of Democracy was a huge freaking mistake.

Re: YepFeel free to sip your Kool Aid and keep your head buried in the sand and repeating again and again "our government are not a bunch of lying sacks...". Keep pretending that everything is right and as it should be and ignoring all the evidence that tells everyone else, around the world, how very wrong things have gotten. Live in your little fantasy "My government right or wrong" Archie Bunker world. Whatever makes you happy. Don't worry, there are lots of people to clean up the mess. We'll do it just fine without you.

Wow, I guess it can also be said that there were no secret documents released and there is no evidence that Snowden did anything illegal! How do you breathe with your head THAT far down in the sand? There is no doubt Clapper committed perjury, the only question is: Does the fact that he was protecting secret information excuse him? Since you believe Congress was already privy to this info, the answer is obviously No. quote: In the spring, Clapper denied to Congress that the NSA collected "any type of data at all on millions or hundreds of millions of Americans." He later told NBC's Andrea Mitchell that he had given the "least untruthful" answer possible. (On Monday, he was tapped by President Barack Obama to establish a "high-level group of outside experts" to review surveillance and privacy issues.)
Sixty-nine percent of voters in Kentucky said Clapper should face charges for perjury, as did 68 percent in Texas, 65 percent in Iowa, 57 percent in Hawaii and 54 percent in California.

It will never cease to amaze me how when confronted with facts, This sort runs and hides. Over 24 hours have passed...nothing... I suppose because there is nothing to say, facts are facts.
The "Intelligence Community" is apparently being run by a bunch of criminals who believe THEIR ENDS justify ANY MEANS. Our Executive, Our Legislative and Our Judicial branch seem to all be good with this. It is TIME for ALL AMERICAN CITIZENS (the people that actually run things, to whom Those 3 branches of government are answerable to) to stand UP and DEMAND ANSWERS; to DEMAND that criminals be PROSECUTED.
It's YOUR country people... time to stand up and fight for it or lose it forever.

Gee... Heres a nice little article that among other things discusses Keith Alexander's difficulties with the truth while reporting to the FISA Court right after it talks about James Clapper's issues with the truth. Maybe they are ill? Maybe they should see a doctor? Maybe they are Pathological Liars? I'm sure that any court hearing Perjury charges against them and their underlings would take mental illness into account. » www.bloomberg.com/news/2 ··· ars.html
