Yesterday Consumer Reports broadsided Apple with a review that -- while still arguing the phone is among the best smartphones on the market -- confirmed that the device does have a very serious antenna design flaw. The review not only confirmed the device's antenna problems, but it questioned Apple's recent explanation which essentially pretended the design flaw didn't exist, instead blaming the problem on funky signal meter algorithms. In the face of mainstream attention, Apple stock took a small dive today and the company is also being slammed for deleting support forum threads about the review (though they appear viewable now). The question most are asking now is whether Apple will be forced to do a recall to protect their brand, or at the very least start handing out free bumper cases to mitigate the issue.
