Sonic.Net Offers Free Hosting
Free domain registration for a year...
by Karl Bode Tuesday 08-Jan-2008 tags: dsl · prices · business · SONIC.NET
Sonic.net CEO Dane Jasper stops by our forums to note that the DSL provider is now giving customers a free new domain name and site hosting for all DSL, dialup, and satellite customers. The domain registration is free for the first year, and costs $9.95 a year after that. The hosting stays free for as long as customers remain with the ISP. Jasper, one of the more accessible industry CEOs, can frequently be found answering questions in our Sonic.Net forum.

Thanks much. I believe that the only way for a large regional ISP like ourselves to remain competitive is to listen to what the market wants.

I've recently put up a blog, which can be found here: »corp.sonic.net/blog/. Give it a look, and let me know what you think.

hmmm

Seems they tried to rip off Qwest symbol.

OMG

No they didn't the quest symbol makes a obvious Q shape... the sonic.net symbol is an obvious bomerang...

Sheesh...

We call it an "arc", not to be confused with a "swoosh"!

Just switched...

I just switched to Sonic from AT&T. I must say I am happy with the service, but switching was a big pain, I lost DSL for 4 days, and then AT&T conveniently had problems processing my order. It WAS supposed to be setup by yesterday, with a lot of legwork and calling AT&T's provisioning dept myself a few thousand times I got it up and running, no thanks to Sonics' customer service, and the supervisor Mark or Mike who never called me back EVER and I had to hunt him down, just to see if he had made any progress at all. Don't tell a customer your going to call them back, and never call them back. All in all I am happy to be with Sonic now, because they sure beat AT&T, which really isn't saying much because, well they are AT&T and have a reputation for having their heads up their arses.
