So what does this mean to those who thought they had a easy way to recovery from a disaster? And how does this affect the DRM properties (proprietary formats and all of course) associated with this defunct endeavor?
I hope those who are thinking of the video downloads think about what happened to the Connect music store.

Of course, that philosophy automatically make you one of the set of folks dubbed "thief". But personally, I think it is smart as seen by the volatility of the providers (and the fact that once I buy something, I hate being held hostage as to how and when I use it).

Sony is pretty much ditching Connect, Sonicstage, and ATRAC (sony's DRM format) in favor of other formats and WMP11. I for one am upset by this (I love the ATRAC format) but I can see why many others would be happy over it.

If I want to own something I certainly won't "rent" it by downloading it. | |
