Competition is good, I just hope residential users don't get lowered on priority.

I am the Sys Admin. for a small company in a rural area, and we have tried two Hughes based systems, the last one being the business version of DirectWay. Both failed miserabley, needless to say! We just recently installed spacenet system. While still not having blazing fast uploads, it is very reliable. Maybe they have a consumer version! Regards
| | | | | Re: Competition might help Hi there. I'm in a rural area and have already had the misfortune of having had Starband in the past. Now I'm on a pathetic dial-up over ancient copper. Speed 28.8 on a good day. I noticed that you said the Hughes systems "failed miserably." What in particular about the business version was bad? I had been considering getting that for myself and would love to hear some honest feedback.
Thanks, NicoleDiana
